CIESPI/PUC-Rio and its community partners celebrate four years of work on the development of community demands for improving conditions for early childhood learning and development in Rocinha, Rio de Janeiro



CIESPI is most pleased to send you two documents from our four years of work with the residents of Rocinha on how to improve early childhood learning and development in challenging contexts, as part of the international project Safe, Inclusive Participative Pedagogy (SIPP) in partnership with the University of Edinburgh.


The photo essay captures the last of five meetings in the community to develop the first ever community-wide plan of priorities for early childhood in Rocinha.


Bulletin 10 summarizes the four years of work which included extensive interviews with teachers, parents, children, community members and other professionals in the community and experiments about how to better listen to children’s voices.
