CIESPI is launching the executive summary ENTITLESD YOUNG PEOPLE and Climate Change in Brazil, which presents the key findings of a national study examining what young people in Brazil know, think, feel, and do regarding climate change.
Based on interviews with 200 participants aged 12 to 18, all students from public and private schools across Brazil's five regions, the research highlights that young people are deeply concerned about climate change. At the same time, it reveals important gaps in access to information and opportunities for meaningful collective engagement.
The executive summary brings together the study's MAIN findings in an accessible format, emphasizing the importance of listening to young people and ensuring their perspectives are included in climate-related debates, policies, and actions. It also reinforces the need to strengthen climate education and create pathways that enable young people to participate actively in addressing the climate crisis.
